Are you intrigued by the art of folding paper? If you are, hereâ'â"s how you can learn Origami. Online you can find a lot of resources which show you step by step how you can make origami flowers, frogs, aero-planes and cranes. There is a technique called the Pureland Origami which is simple. This is done by making one fold at a time. For Pureland Origami you can have a number of folds, the valley fold, the mountain fold, the pleat fold, the radial pleat fold and the blintz fold. These are all used for making different origami objects. They are illustrated online with proper descriptions.
If you want to develop some intermediate skills in Origami, you can learn to make a squash fold, a rabbit ear fold, a petal fold and the crimp fold.
If you want to learn origami, you have to learn how make a few bases which refers to the folded paper that precedes the folding and modifies the shape of the model to be built.
You can try out the kite base, the fish base, the Water Bomb base, the bird base and the frog base.
When a certain square base is folded to form a blintz, and then it is folded using the frog, bird, kite base, then the edges that are blintzed are collapsed. This adds to the complexity and it adds many more edges and points to the original frog, bird, and kite bases. Theoretically you can go about creating innumerable number of blintzes, but paper thickness would be a restriction in forming that. It is generally two blintzes that are formed.
